City of Richland, WA
Home MenuAnimal Licensing -- Not Required
Effective June 18, 2019, the City of Richland discontinued the legal obligation requiring residents to register and license dogs and cats in the City of Richland. This decision is the result of a cost benefit analysis performed by staff and approved by the Richland City Council.
Richland Municipal Code Chapter 7.03 has been amended to remove the dog and cat licensing requirement. Citizens are encouraged to review the Richland Municipal Code.
As a result of these changes, residents of the City of Richland are no longer required to license their dogs or cats. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at customerservice@ci.richland.wa.us.
