City Clerk

The City Clerk’s Office is central to government transparency and strives to instill public confidence by demonstrating the highest standards of integrity in management of the public record. The City Clerk position is established by the Richland City Charter.


Responsibilities of the City Clerk:

  • Prepares agendas and keeps minutes of all City Council meetings;
  • Maintains official records and documents;
  • Publishes legal notices and public meeting notices;
  • Serves as custodian of the city seal;
  • Certifies all ordinances and resolutions;
  • Coordinates recruitment for advisory boards, commissions, and committees;
  • Performs other duties required by law or at the direction of Richland City Council.

Claims for Damage:

The City Clerk is the registered agent for the City. Therefore, claims for damage are served on the City Clerk and processed by the City Clerk’s Office in connection with the City’s Risk & Safety Program Administrator.
