Regular term expiration dates of BCC members are bi-annual, as follows:

March 31 (Applications will be posted for open positions starting at the end of January each year.)

Board of Adjustment

Conducts public hearings and makes decisions on applications for special use permits; grants permits when requirements are fully met; grants or denies variances to the regulations or restrictions in the Richland Municipal Code when the variance is in harmony with general purposes and intent of the code; and hears and decides on appeals to administrative interpretations of the City’s Zoning Code.

Utility Advisory Committee

Serves as an advisory body to the City Council relative to policy and planning for the managing, financing and operation of the utilities owned and operated by the City of Richland. Upon authorization, the UAC conducts surveys, analyses, studies and reports relating to City-owned utilities. The UAC also advises Council on all matters relating to utility system expansion, extension, additions and betterment; the incurring of indebtedness for or by City-owned utilities and the issuance of utility bonds; rates and charges for utility services; and policies related to utilities not owned by the City.
