ROAD INFORMATION

Steptoe Street at Tapteal Drive – Reconstruction of the Steptoe/Tapteal intersection continues. The project has begun long-term lane closures to allow crews to demolish the West side of Steptoe Street and the West end of Tapteal Drive. Tapteal Drive can still be accessed from Columbia Center Blvd. and Center Parkway. Left turns onto Steptoe off of Canyon Street will be restricted for a few weeks. There will be reduced speed limit signs in place. This intersection realignment project will continue through the end of spring, bringing transportation and infrastructure improvements to this area. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signage.
Ava Way at Dallas Road – A contractor will have Ava Way from Dallas Road to the Country Mercantile closed for utility installation. A detour will be in place, and all businesses will still be accessible.
Roadway Construction on Dallas Rd. between Ava Way and Trowbridge Blvd. – Construction started in mid-April 2025 with work beginning along Dallas Rd. between Ava Way and Trowbridge Blvd. This work is for a developer-driven project to construct roundabouts at the intersections of Dallas Rd. with Trowbridge Blvd. and Ava Way, as well as widening along Dallas Rd. between the two intersections. This is an ongoing project with an expected completion date in Spring 2026.
Thayer Drive Streetlight Replacement – Construction of new streetlight poles, anchors, concrete foundations, junction boxes, wiring, streetlight conduits, asphalt patching, site restoration, removal of streetlight head attachments, removal and relocation of existing street signs on Thayer Drive between Kuhn Street and Sunset Street. Contractor will be installing an electrical crossing on the west side of intersection of Thayer Dr and Van Giesen St. Detour Map
South George Washington Way (between Comstock St & Aaron Dr) & Columbia Point Drive - Periodic lane closures will continue intermittently as site restoration work continues on the east side of George Washington Way south of the Columbia Point intersection with various lane restrictions.
SR240 and Aaron Drive Intersection Area – A geotechnical investigation via drilling will take place in the general vicinity of the SR240 (by-pass highway) and Aaron Drive intersection starting on April 20th and continuing through May 6th. Minor shoulder closures and slight interruptions to traffic flow should be expected during this work.
Wyman Street - Street will be closed on April 15th - 24th for fiber installation. Detour will be in place. Detour Map
Roadway Construction on Reata Rd. between Southgate Way and Badger View Dr. –Construction started in Spring 2026 with work beginning along Reata Rd. between Southgate Way and Badger View Dr. This work is for a developer-driven project to construct a roundabout at the intersections of Reata Rd. & the future connection to Gage Blvd., as well as widening along Reata Rd. before taper back to existing conditions. This is an ongoing project with an expected completion date in Summer 2026.
Starting the week of April 13th, Reata Rd. is closed in both directions between Southgate Way and Badger View Dr. A detour is in place from Sagebrush Rd. to Bermuda Rd. in both directions. Local access will be maintained for the duration of the closure for residents on the south side of Reata Rd., as well as access to Southgate Way. The anticipated duration is approximately two months. Drivers are advised to follow all posted detour signs and expect delays.
City View Dr and Northeast part of Truman Ave (City View & Truman Buildout Project) – Contractor will be doing a full road construction and City View will be closed from the Duportail St intersection to just north of Benton County Emergency Management building and the northeast part of Truman Ave. Detour going down Truman will be a right turn onto Queensgate and then a left turn onto Duportail, and then detour from Duportail will be a right turn onto Queensgate and then a left turn onto Truman.
For all projects, please drive carefully and obey all traffic control signs and flaggers. This information is updated as conditions change.
