About Public Power

As a public power utility, RES is governed by the Richland City Council, with guidance from the Utility Advisory Committee (UAC). Together, they help shape the policies and priorities that ensure reliable electric service and sound financial management for our community.

Public power systems like ours serve nearly 40 million people nationwide. We operate on a not-for-profit basis, with local control and a strong commitment to transparency, responsiveness, and public accountability.
